I feel that she contradicts herself by saying that she will stop talking about the war because it is too political however she becomes so upset and sad that she brings herself to continue to express her feelings towards the war that is going on

i feel that the war is her life, thats what she sees everyday thats what she knows so for her to write a blog about herself and family and not mention the war it would be difficult for her.

she does try to not talk about the war too much because maybe it hurts her to much to talk about it but she does give a little detail about whats going on around her.

This book really is interesting. I enjoy reading about her life. It's sad to read about the wars that goes on and all the bombings they go through each and every day. I am surprised on how her school got flooded and all they did to "help" was put the school in TV. That's sad how no one does anything to help.

I agree, it is sad and the attention that was brought to the situation by putting it on TV was good but. instead of just broadcasting it on TV people should have done more to help.

I agree with you Kendra, it is really sad and a horrible that was brought to the front of the situation. This should not be a young girls life or it should be how she lives in life.

I agree with you because its like we can see what she see's and we feel what she is feeling. I was surprised how she has educated family both her parents have an education. Then her grandpa has his education. So she has a pretty smart family.

Yess very true! But when really its not the peoples fault the only ones responsible for all the bombings and shootings is the government but it still makes our society look like the bad people

I agree with you Tamara, your right about the government doing the bombing and the shooting in the world and its tearing us and family who are dying and it's not fair for them to go through life like that.

Exactly, its amazing how much empathy you feel while reading this book, she's 16 going threw bombings, street shootings, kidnappings.Anyone around her can be hurt or even killed to be in that state of mind is devastating. Shes immune to drinking dirty water, limited electricity it makes you greatful :)

This is clearly the blog of a teenager it makes the story realistic raw emotion and complete honesty. Hayedi tells the story of the Iraqi war from her point of view.

When I started to read Iraqi Girl I was interested because I enjoyed reading the little stories she had added in the begging about her self and how everything is with her. Her blogs gives a lot of information and is why it is interesting read. I was surprise after the years of war and occupation, many of U.S is resigned for the Iraqi.
